What makes Huntley School unique?

Huntley is an independent preparatory school for year 3-8 boys and girls.

Located at Marton, 30 minutes west of Palmerston North and east of Wanganui.  It was established in 1896 and is New Zealand’s oldest and largest preparatory boarding school. At Huntley every student is given the opportunity to reach their individual potential academically, physically, socially, culturally and spiritually. Our goal is to prepare students for the adventure of life and create outstanding citizens. These are some of the ways we do it:

Our class sizes are limited to 22 students, we employ teachers for specialist subjects such as science and music and our year 7 and 8 academic streaming programme ensures each child receives the support or extension they require.

The Huntley school day (8.30am- 5pm) includes a comprehensive school based sport and cultural programme backed up by professional coaching and teacher management.

In our happy, safe boarding environment students are supported by caring staff and are able to reap the full benefit of the opportunities we offer as well as making lifelong friendships.

We celebrate success. We have high standards for appearance and behaviour and expect every child to give their best at all times.
