Independent Schools of New Zealand has introduced a new initiative, the ISNZ Honours Awards.  The purpose of these Awards is to acknowledge and celebrate outstanding educators within ISNZ Member Schools, and to acknowledge the wide range of contributions to the success of independent schools.

The new Awards model aims to be more inclusive of the diversity of positions held by staff at ISNZ Member Schools including: 

• early childhood
• academic staff
• boarding staff
• pastoral care/counsellors
• sports/performing arts
• leadership roles - senior managers (excluding Principals), and
• service in a given area.

These Awards replace the Excellence in Teaching Awards.
