Pinehurst Senior College student Aine Kelly-Costello has been selected to represent New Zealand at the London Paralypic Games in four swimming events; 50m, 100m and 400m freestyle and 100m backstroke in August.

Aine will depart New Zealand with the team for a 10-day preparation camp in Swansea, Wales next month before entering the Paralympic village on 25 August. 

The game’s opening ceremony is to be held on 29 August with swim races beginning the next day and Aine’s first race scheduled for 31 August.

Aine joins 26 athletes representing New Zealand including 8 swimmers.

Currently training 6 sessions a week, Aine has recently returned from an intensive training camp held on the Gold Coast where she trained 9 sessions (17-18 hours) each week.
