What makes Wellesley School unique?

Wellesley is situated in a beautiful location and has wonderful facilities. We take pride in our history and value our traditions and we balance the need for new innovations with respect for our past. Our facilities, grounds and resources provide an excellent support structure for the teachers who are dynamic professionals and enthusiastic about their teaching and learning. We have a number of specialist teachers who deliver lessons in Physical Education, Technology, Science, Music, Visual and Performing Arts and who nurture the creative thinking of students.

At Wellesley we value professional and authentic relationships with our students, staff and parents. We value critical thinking skills and we provide opportunities for boys to develop these life-long skills. Our staff base decisions on the individual needs of each boy and we endeavour to create a learning environment where boys can take ‘risks’ in a safe and supported environment to learn. Boys learn by doing and we endeavour to use constructivist strategies linked with emotional intelligences in each class every day.

At Wellesley we want boys to have fun. We want them to love their schooling; play, interact, discover, and engage with their surroundings. We want them to ‘have a go’ and work hard to achieve their goals. We want them to love the school as much as the staff and community do and be part of something special.
