Our aim is to provide a broad education and enable boys to become passionate lifelong learners. The College has a long history of success based on our core values: honesty, learning, respect, spirituality, justice, and compassion. The College We strive to educate boys to their greatest potential, developing their academic abilities, their sporting and cultural dimensions, and their spiritual understanding. At College, we place great emphasis on our House system through which we are able to look after each boy’s intellectual, emotional, and physical well-being. There are 10 Houses – four boarding and six dayboy – each with a Housemaster and Deputy or Assistant Housemaster. There are also House Tutors in the boarding houses and all these staff contribute to pastoral care. The majority of boarders come from throughout Christ’s College is unique in its location and striking heritage architecture. Situated in the heart of The Curriculum There are excellent facilities for teaching and learning in all subject areas, with a well integrated information and communication technologies component. The Board of Governors has a commitment to continuous investment in the College’s facilities to maintain student achievement at the highest possible level. An acceleration and extension programme is offered to boys of top academic ability, while those with learning difficulties receive individual tuition and support to address their needs. Sporting and Cultural Activities Sport is an integral part of a boy’s overall education at Christ’s College providing lessons in teamwork, commitment, and leadership. There are 25 sports available for boys to choose from including cricket, rowing, and rugby along with less mainstream school sports such as fencing and mountain biking. We currently have four polo teams and have been the top school team for the last six years. Excellent facilities include a fully equipped gymnasium, a 25 metre heated indoor pool, and extensive playing fields within the school and in neighbouring The performing arts are also considered important to a well-rounded education and there are opportunities for boys to be involved in a wide range of cultural activities. There is a strong choral tradition with an active chapel choir and a smaller chamber choir. There are a variety of music options with a brass ensemble, an orchestra, a big band, rock groups, and various chamber and jazz groups. The drama programme is comprehensive with much of the College population participating in productions throughout the year, using our 200 seat theatre or magnificent 1200 seat auditorium. Scholarships The Christ’s College scholarship programme is extensive. Each year up to 25 boys benefit from scholarships for academic, musical and sporting abilities.
