Neighbours, the National Library, Katherine Mansfield Birthplace and Parliament, offer access to unique learning possibilities. The Curriculum The college aims to produce a young woman with a well rounded education, a high degree of purpose and personal satisfaction – a young woman who is confident to face the future. There is a range of mathematics levels, a strong performing arts programme and many individual and team exchanges. Sitting NCEA credits in Year 10 is available in some areas. The emphasis in the Sporting and Cultural Activities Extra-curricular activities abound. Team and individual sports allow a diversity of sporting opportunities such as rowing, water olo and netball for players, umpires and student coaches. Our many regional and national sporting representatives cover a variety of codes. Students participate in music, drama and art. These are real strengths of the College with many students taking advantage of the extra-curricular opportunities offered. Debating and public speaking encourage our girls to be articulate and confident. Annual Year 9 Musicals involve every girl at that year level and we stage major productions. Exchanges National and international exchanges promote awareness of our global community within the safety of the school umbrella. After-School Care Preparatory to Year 6 girls enjoy a home-like environment from 3:00 pm to 5:30 m each school night. There are vacancies for casual and regular users. A supervised homework option is available for Years 7 to 10. Extended hours are one of the options available at our Pre-School. Scholarships A range of scholarships is awarded. Fees Protection Insurance is a compulsory charge on all Tuition Fees. This provides for the continuation of tuition in the event of the death or permanent disability of either parent where they are both signatories to the Offer of Acceptance documentation. Cover is extended to age 70 for death and 65 for permanent disability. Family Discount: A family discount of 5% is given where Tuition Fees billed are $35,000 per annum or more, including GST. This discount applies to domestic students only.
