The School
St Peter’s, founded in 1936, is an innovative coeducational day and boarding independent school set in extensive park like grounds. The campus is four kilometres from Cambridge, surrounded by a dairy farm owned by the school. Girl and boy boarders, Years 7-13, are accommodated onsite in eight Boarding Houses, in superior accommodation. Day students attend from Cambridge, Hamilton and the surrounding areas. Most of the boarders are from the greater Waikato. St Peter's welcomes international students. The school is committed to a holistic education, following the Founder's philosophy of educating the whole person - Body, Mind and Spirit.

The Curriculum
St Peter’s is organised as a Year 7-13 school, and in the junior classes, in particular, there is emphasis in the sound teaching of the basics. We believe in streaming, homework and the value of external examinations. The school’s academic record is outstanding.

St Peter's offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma as a pathway for Y12 and 13 students.  This highly regarded international qualification will be attractive to many students.  NCEA Level 1-3, as well as Cambridge Mathematics are also available in the school. As part of the special character of the school, importance is placed on religious studies, Chapel, music and the performing arts. The school has some of the best facilities available in New Zealand, a multi-purpose auditorium, purpose-built academic blocks, and integrated technology.

Sporting and Cultural Activities
There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including rugby, cricket, netball, rowing, snow sports, touch, athletics, badminton, squash, soccer, swimming and hockey. As well there is a golf academy, tennis academy, sports academy, swimming academy and a purpose built Equestrian centre. Music and cultural activities are an integral part of school life, with inter-house music competitions, concerts, a performing arts week and a widely-acclaimed annual school production. A wide range of individual music tuition is offered and students can become involved in the orchestra, band, choirs, dance, theatresports, Stage challenge, speech and drama.

St Peter's was one of the first colleges to join the Enviroschools programme in 2003 and has been awarded both the bronze and silver awards. A whole school programme of recycling and waste management practices is fully operational and lead by the students. The school has participated in 'conservation camps' in the Urewera National Park since 1977.

Acceptance fee (non refundable payable once only) $562.50 (for 1st child, $281.25 for 2nd child).
