David Evans, St Andrew's College

Service to School Management

David has served for over 18 years as General Manager of St Andrew’s College. He has guided the College through one of the most challenging periods in its history.

Over the last decade, $100 million has been invested into St Andrew’s, which has involved many challenging logistics. The facility and campus development included a new science and maths block, a Chapel, a gym, new preparatory and junior schools and a redeveloped library and innovation centre. David’s oversight saw every project delivered on time and to budget.

David works closely with students and staff to meet their needs – he has a collaborative approach and is committed to delivering outcomes which are in the best interests of student learning. Staff and students appreciate this.

David also oversees support staff, and supports his direct reports in recruitment and appointments. He fosters positive relationships between support and teaching staff, and gets personally involved in staff events, attending balls, singing with the staff barbershop quartet and recently taking a lead role in the staff, Old Collegian and student Christmas production.

Financial Controller Richard Boon says, “David is pulled in many directions but always makes time to listen to concerns, provide support and guidance, and appreciate things done. He has a great sense of humour, is very humble, and is a fantastic boss.”

Congratulations David.
