In remembrance

Today, Independent Schools of New Zealand will join the two-minute silence at 1.32pm to remember the victims of last week’s terrible attack on the Muslim community in Christchurch. All our schools are ensuring the safety of their students, and supporting them through the aftermath of this traumatic event.

Our schools are diverse learning environments, where students from a wide range of cultures, ethnicities and religions come to be educated. We are very respectful of the diversity within our schools, and we celebrate this diversity and the benefits it brings to all students and to the wider New Zealand community.

The Ministry of Education has shared some advice for parents and educators on supporting children and young people after a traumatic event. Click here to read more.
