Job Description
Selwyn House is an independent school offering education from Years 1 - 8 for girls and a co-educational preschool. Our education is based on the International Baccalaureate programme (PYP), which teaches continuous inquiry. This teaches our students the skills, knowledge, courage, and optimism to become caring and active learners. Our students learn to enhance the lives of others. We inspire our students by giving them the tools to excel and a place and opportunities to express themselves. A balance of exceptional pastoral care, quality educational programs and a wide variety of co-curricular opportunities deliver our commitment to holistic education. Students and staff collaborate to provide a high level of engagement for all, which provides a dynamic educational environment where everyone thrives. We all work together to ensure that current pedagogy, quality programs, support networks, and opportunities to succeed are embraced.
Our school is seeking highly motivated, dynamic, experienced practitioners who are passionate about girls' education. The successful candidates will be NZ registered and able to demonstrate the ability to effectively inspire and improve learning outcomes for tamariki whilst understanding and supporting the unique nature of our school. The ability to create the best possible learning environment, be culturally responsive with excellent communication skills, and build and maintain relationships with whānau, ākonga, and staff is essential. We require teachers with knowledge of inquiry learning, expert classroom practices, and a willingness to continue to learn collaboratively with colleagues. The positions range throughout the school and will start at the beginning of Term 1, 2025.
