Te Tūranga | The role  

At Queen Margaret College, we are committed to providing a holistic and empowering education for young women. We are seeking a passionate and talented Mathematics teacher to join our community. The successful candidate will be an experienced and engaging educator, capable of teaching Mathematics from Years 7-10, as well as NCEA Calculus and Statistics. The ability, or willingness, to teach IB Diploma Mathematics would be an advantage.  

You will be responsible for:

  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, high-performing learning environment that supports student success.
  • Demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Supporting and mentoring mathematics staff, contributing to professional learning, curriculum development, and effective teaching practice.
  • Working alongside the HoLA Mathematics to provide leadership in learning and teaching, using data-informed practices to support improvement.
  • Leading and participating in professional development to remain current with best practice in mathematics education.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the mathematics department and supporting school-wide implementation.

  • A current New Zealand Teaching Certificate
  • A degree in Mathematics or a related mathematical field
  • An enthusiasm for learning and high expectations of students
  • Willingness to build positive relationships and collaborate
  • Familiarity with technology in a learning environment
