Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for more than 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. The Inclusive Learning Team are seeking an experienced Kaiako to join us in a lead coordination role.
As the Inclusive Learning Coordinator for Middle School, you will collaborate with whānau, year level deans, teachers and agencies to remove barriers, empowering every student to engage fully with an accessible curriculum. You will identify students for special assessment conditions (SACs), complete screening, and be a key member of the wider school team supporting the transition of new students to the Middle School. Your focus will be on the Middle School years (7-10), so experience with this age group is beneficial. As a member of the Inclusive Learning Team, you will also be required to work with students in the Senior School. Your work with Senior Students may involve supporting them with SAC, screening and/or supervision of supported study groups. This position reports to the Head of Inclusive Learning.


As a valued member of our teaching staff, you will be required to participate in the school’s annual camp and co-curricular programmes. All of our teaching staff are required to teach at least one subject line (for example, Year 9 PE) over the 7-day cycle, up to 7 periods.

This role requires a NZ-registered teacher with:

  • Understanding of Universal Design for Learning
  • Knowledge and understanding of neurodiversity
  • Knowledge and experience with SAC screening and applications
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing IEPs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • A commitment to Kristin’s values: “Progress with vision, integrity and love”
  • Knowledge of the MYP/IB Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (or willingness to train).
  • Successful experience in mentoring, coaching and guiding Learning Assistants/Teacher aides
  • Ideally, you will have SENCo/Learning Support Coordinator experience.
