Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for over 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. We are seeking an experienced Kaiako to join our Inclusive Learning Team, which provides support for our neurodiverse learners and learners needing support. The Kristin Inclusive Learning team consists of the Head of Inclusive Learning, two Coordinators/Lead Teachers, Specialist Teachers, an Administrator, and Learning Assistants. We work with students in the Middle and Senior School (Year 7-13).
As an Inclusive Learning Teacher your aim is to increase access and engagement for a diverse group of learners through identifying learning needs and working with teachers to remove barriers that might otherwise exclude students. This role includes the identification of students for special assessment conditions (SACs), screening, assisting with transitions and sharing information with teachers and year level deans. You will have timetabled supported study classes with small groups of students in Year 11 and 12.
As a valued member of our teaching staff, you will be required to participate in the school’s annual camp and co-curricular programmes. All of our teaching staff are required to teach at least one subject line (for example, Year 9 PE) over the 7-day cycle, up to 7 periods.

This requires a NZ registered teacher with:
- Success in working with neurodiverse learners
- Knowledge and experience with SAC testing and applications
- Demonstrated success in implementing IEPs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
