Job Description

Huntley School is seeking a warm, engaging, and values-driven School Chaplain to lead and nurture the spiritual life of our school community.

This is a meaningful role at the heart of Huntley, supporting students and staff through worship, guidance, pastoral presence, and the rich traditions of Chapel life.

Key Responsibilities
The School Chaplain will:

  • Oversee weekly Chapel services, including arranging readers, class services, Eucharists, and special services
  • Be available for spiritual guidance, prayer, and support when required
  • Run Baptism, Admission to Communion, and Confirmation classes to prepare students for these important milestones
  • Coordinate the Bishop’s visits to the school
  • Liaise with families and community members wishing to use the Chapel for ceremonies such as weddings and baptism

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in ministry, chaplaincy, or pastoral leadership
  • Relates naturally and positively to young people
  • Can lead worship confidently and respectfully within an Anglican tradition
  • Is approachable, compassionate, and able to provide calm support in times of need
  • Communicates well and works collaboratively with staff and the wider school community
