Job Description
Love solving IT problems? So do we.
We're looking for a technically sharp IT professional to join our Information Systems Support (ISS) team — someone who gets satisfaction from a well-maintained system, a clean infrastructure, and making things just work. This is a newly created role for someone who thrives both in the engine room and the spotlight.
Empowering young women starts with a great team - Diocesan School for Girls is one of New Zealand's leading girls' schools, with a community of students, staff, and families united by a shared purpose: preparing young women to thrive. Behind every great learning environment is a team making sure the technology works seamlessly — and that's where you come in.
"This isn't just a help desk role, it’s a systems role — and there's a meaningful difference." While you'll also be a contact point when things go wrong for users, the bulk of your time will be spent maintaining and improving the IT systems that the whole school depends on.
Mō te tūranga: About the role
Day to day, this role is about keeping Dio's IT environment secure, reliable, and modern. You'll work primarily across cloud platforms, devices, and networks — and have real ownership over the stability, consistency and reliability of our systems.
Managing and monitoring our enterprise management systems such as Intune, Jamf, Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace as well as the range of other IT systems that make our operations run smoothly.
- Delivering ICT improvement projects with a focus on automation, not manual fixes.
- Being an escalation point when complex technical problems arise
- Keeping documentation sharp — processes, systems, knowledge bases
- Cross-training teammates so the team is resilient
- Evaluating and implementing new equipment and technologies
- Providing customer service to our staff, students and parents.
Ngā pūkenga me whai: We’re looking for someone with
You don't need to be everything to everyone — but you do need to be genuinely skilled across modern IT infrastructure, self-directed, and someone who takes pride in doing things properly.
- 5+ years of hands-on ICT infrastructure or systems support experience
- Solid grounding in Microsoft 365, Intune, Jamf and Google Workspace
- Confident with Apple and Windows hardware and operating systems
- Experience with enterprise LAN/WLAN, MDM, firewalls, and backup systems
- Certifications in relevant technologies, or actively working towards them
- A natural problem-solver who's calm under pressure
- Someone who documents as they go, not as an afterthought
