We require an Assistant House Manager to join our team in our Senior Boys House, Rutherford (Years 11- 13).

Reporting to the Director of Boarding, the role of an Assistant House Manager is a vital position where you are working very closely with the boarding students and their families and are the first point of contact. We have a high level of pastoral care within the College and the boarding facilities are no exception to this. Day to day you will be hands on from before wake up through to the end of the day and will be required to be on call for overnight situations that may arise. You will deal with all administration functions and management of the cleaning and maintenance of the Boarding house. You will oversee laundry services and will also attend meetings with other Assistant House and House Managers and will attend boarding chapel services and other whole boarding events.
What you’ll bring to the role
We are looking for someone who has an ability to build a quick rapport with students and their families and colleagues and has exceptional communication skills. You’ll be able to work cohesively in a team and will be motivated when working alone. You’ll have a high level of organisational skills and attention to detail. You must have pastoral care experience and will have experience in dealing with teenagers and ideally boarding experience.
You will have personal qualities of honesty, integrity, enthusiasm and will be approachable and firm but fair. This is a part year position where you are required to work term times only. There will be some rostered weekend duties which are distributed between other House and Assistant House Managers.
You will be required to be onsite from Sunday-Thursday and modern, on-site accommodation is provided year-round including during school holiday times. You will be provided with all meals during term time and electricity, mobile phone, College laptop, Sky TV, Wi-Fi throughout the year. This role is subject to a Police Vet and you will also need a current up to date First Aid certification, which can be provided by the College.
