Te Tūranga | The Role
The Boarding House Manager is a pivotal leader within our boarding community, responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students can thrive. This role blends pastoral care with operational oversight, managing both the Queen Margaret Boarding House and Residence. You’ll lead a dedicated team, oversee daily routines, coordinate activities, and maintain strong relationships with families, ensuring a high quality boarding experience. This role requires a manager to live in when on duty. An apartment and meals is provided.
Ngā Haepapa | Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor boarding staff, fostering a positive team culture.
- Ensure student wellbeing through active supervision and restorative practices.
- Develop and deliver engaging programs and activities for students.
- Oversee operations including rostering, catering, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Maintain strong communication with families and school leadership.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and manage risk effectively.
He Kōrero Mōu | About You
- Experience in residential care, student wellbeing, or a similar pastoral role.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Cultural awareness and a commitment to inclusivity.
- Knowledge of child safety and wellbeing standards.
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
