Kristin School is a co-educational, non-denominational, independent school on Auckland’s North Shore. It provides education for over 1800 students from Early Learning to Year 13, with dual pathways through NCEA and the International Baccalaureate programme. We seek a person who is knowledgeable in maintaining and managing outdoor education equipment to work part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, during term time. This role supports our Outdoor Education teachers to deliver their daily programme and camps. You would be responsible for the maintenance of equipment, inventory checks, issuing and returning of equipment and supporting camps and other activities. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, our Climbing Wall and relevant equipment, kayaks and camping equipment like tents and gas burners. The role may also involve assisting with the transport of equipment and/or students as required.
Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake
- Experience and qualifications in outdoor education are an advantage
- Proven track record in outdoor education, preferably working with students
- Knowledge of outdoor equipment, maintenance and repairs
- Understanding of safety procedures, risk management and first aid
- Physically fit to work outdoors and handle all equipment required
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Full Driver’s Licence
