New Zealand School Jakarta was founded in 2002 with the aim of bringing the New Zealand Curriculum to students of all nationalities living in Jakarta. The school was established to provide high-quality education that reflects New Zealand’s holistic, learner-centred approach while serving the diverse international and local community.

We are a small but growing school, with just under 200 students and 30 teachers, offering education from Preschool through to Pre-University. Our size allows us to maintain a close-knit community and provide personalised learning and support for every student. Our school is a caring community where students are known, supported and encouraged to grow as confident learners. We combine high expectations with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, building positive relationships and holistic development.

As the only school in Indonesia following the New Zealand Curriculum, we were keen to strengthen our connection with the wider New Zealand education community. Membership with ISNZ provides valuable opportunities for collaboration, professional learning and sharing best practice, while also allowing us to both learn from and contribute to the wider ISNZ community. The leadership connections and shared experiences offered through ISNZ really help our school continue to grow with purpose. Attending the ISNZ annual conference allows our team to expand their professional networks beyond Indonesia, learn from inspiring educators in New Zealand and bring fresh ideas and perspectives back to our school. As an international school, we value the importance of global connection.

It is important for us to manage our growth carefully while preserving the school’s culture, values, and personalised approach to learning. Also, continue to strengthen pathways to university for our students.
We see ourselves working with other ISNZ member schools in a collaborative way. We value opportunities to share practice, learn from the experiences of other schools, and contribute insights from our own context. Through shared learning opportunities and attending conferences, we aim to be an active and positive contributor to the ISNZ community.
Guy Pascoe, ISNZ Chief Executive, says “We are delighted to welcome New Zealand School Jakarta to our membership; they are our first international member and we are excited to see what the relationship will bring to all our members. We look forward to collaborating and learning from each other on the global stage.”
Nau mai, haere mai New Zealand School Jakarta!
